For Meriki, becoming a stylist happened naturally, like all the best things in life do. Growing up, she spent hours completely immersed in her own world watching beauty tutorials, quietly discovering a passion. Originally on the path to becoming a nurse, she now finds herself combining her faith & her heart for people to offer care in a different way, helping them feel beautiful inside & out.
Since joining StudioVasi, Meriki has fully embraced the salon’s culture of growth & creativity. “The opportunities here are unmatched,” she says. “Vasi is not only a master stylist but a true educator. Working here has completely elevated how I approach my craft.” She loves being in an environment that constantly pushes her to expand her skills & learn ever-changing techniques.
That dedication to learning heavily shapes her deep product knowledge. Hair care can be overwhelming to navigate, but Meriki loves guiding clients through the confusion to find exactly what they need. She is drawn to Kérastase & Davines because both brands have developed their own skincare lines, bringing that same ingredient-focused expertise to hair health. She loves pulling different favorites from both lines to custom-blend solutions, relying on Kérastase for specific needs like curl care, & Davines for its clean, organic formulas.
While she enjoys every service for its own unique rewards, color transformations are her true love. Whether she is bringing a bold change to life or creating a soft, lived-in look, she finds joy in helping clients express themselves through tailored color. One of her favorite hair memories is a spontaneous rainbow painting session with a friend, which turned a normal afternoon into an incredibly fun, creative project.
Her favorite thing about being a stylist? “All of it,” she says. “I love being on my feet, hearing people's stories, & forming genuine friendships in the chair. My goal is really just to show my clients the beauty they already have & bring out their true selves.”
When the workday ends, her creativity doesn't stop. You will find her drawing, singing with her family band, or winding down for a good movie with her cat, Mabel.
For Meriki, success is simple: “When a client leaves looking & feeling refreshed, with a smile, that is when I know I’ve done my job.”
