For Meriki, becoming a stylist happened naturally, the way all the best things in life do. Growing up with a tomboy mom, she found herself immersed in beauty tutorials for hours on end, sparking a lifelong passion. Originally on the path to becoming a nurse, she now finds herself in an industry where she could care for people in a different way, helping them feel beautiful inside & out.
Since joining StudioVasi, Meriki has fully embraced the salon’s culture of growth & creativity. “The opportunities here are unmatched,” she says. “Vasi is not only a master stylist but a true educator. Working here has completely elevated how I approach my craft.” She loves being in an environment that constantly pushes her to expand her skills & learn ever-changing techniques.
That dedication to learning heavily shapes her deep product knowledge. Hair care can be extremely overwhelming to navigate, but Meriki loves guiding clients through the confusion to find exactly what they need. She is drawn to Kérastase & Davines because both brands have developed their own skincare lines, bringing that same ingredient-focused expertise to hair health. She loves pulling different favorites from both lines to custom-blend solutions, relying on Kérastase for targeted results like their incredible curl care, & Davines for its clean, organic formulas.
While she enjoys every service for its own unique rewards, color transformations are her true love. She loves creating dimensional, lived-in looks, finding joy in helping clients express themselves through tailored color. She keeps her work fresh with an innate eye for spotting new trends & techniques before they hit the mainstream.
Her favorite thing about being a stylist? “All of it,” she says. “I love that I get to build real connections, hear people's stories, & offer a supportive ear. My goal is really just to show my clients the beauty they already have and bring out their true selves.”
When the workday ends, her creativity doesn't stop. You will find her drawing, singing with her family band, or winding down for a good movie night with her cat, Mabel.
For Meriki, success is simple: “When a client leaves looking & feeling refreshed, with a smile or a new bounce in their step, that is when I know I’ve done my job.”
