OLENA
STYLIST LEVEL: LEVEL 2
Meet Olena: Dimensional Color & Blonde Specialist
Olena, a passionate and talented stylist, is known for her ability to transform hair with breathtaking dimensional color and stunning blonde hues. Growing up in Ukraine, Olena was always an active, creative individual with a deep curiosity for everything around her. From a young age, she found herself experimenting with hair for her family—many of whom had mixed curly and wavy hair. This early exposure to hairstyling sparked her interest and nurtured a love for helping others look and feel their best. She quickly discovered that hairstyling was more than just a profession for her—it was a creative outlet that allowed her to blend her love for artistry with her desire to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives.
Olena's approach to hair is rooted in a deep appreciation for the process and the ever-evolving nature of the beauty industry. She thrives in the energetic and dynamic atmosphere of a salon, where she’s constantly challenged to learn and grow. This mindset fuels her commitment to perfecting her craft, with a strong focus on dimensional color, blonding, and haircuts that elevate her clients' natural beauty.
One of Olena’s favorite product lines is Kérastase, which she believes provides outstanding results. She especially loves using L’ANZA Keratin Oil to keep her hair soft, healthy, and manageable. Her tools of choice include a blow dryer and round brushes, which are essential for creating voluminous, shiny blowouts. However, she admits to secretly being obsessed with her curling iron, which she uses to create flawless curls and beachy waves for her clients.
Her favorite services to provide are balayages, blonding, and any fun color transformations her clients are ready to bring to life. She enjoys the challenge of creating the perfect look that brings out the best in each person, whether it’s subtle and natural or bold and vibrant. Olena is also passionate about giving each client a personalized experience, ensuring that their hair matches their unique personality and style.
Staying on top of the latest trends is key for Olena, and she’s committed to continuing her education and expanding her knowledge. She’s always diving into hair videos and attending classes to learn new techniques and gain fresh perspectives. Being open-minded and constantly evolving in her craft is what helps her provide the highest quality work and ensure that every client leaves satisfied.
The best part about being a stylist for Olena is the creative freedom she enjoys, as well as the ability to make her clients feel confident and beautiful. There’s a particular excitement that comes from turning a client’s vision into reality using her knowledge and skills. Additionally, Olena loves the positive and fun atmosphere at her salon, where she’s surrounded by a team of motivated and supportive coworkers. It makes her work feel less like a “job” and more like a shared creative space.
Working at Studio Vasi has been a pivotal experience for Olena, providing her with educational opportunities, a positive work environment, and the ability to develop her unique perspective as a stylist. Studio Vasi has helped her grow not just as a professional, but as an individual in the beauty industry, and she’s grateful for the support she’s received from the team.
What Olena loves most about Studio Vasi is the cooperative teamwork and the relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. It’s a space where everyone works together, helps each other, and truly feels like a family. This environment has allowed Olena to flourish and become the stylist she is today.
Reflecting on her journey, one of Olena’s favorite memories was during college when she participated in a zombie photo shoot. She had to create three full hairstyles in a fast-paced environment, and the energy of the entire process was exhilarating. Seeing the final shots taken by the photographers was a moment she’ll always treasure, as it reminded her of the excitement and fast-paced nature of the beauty world.
While Olena doesn’t have a specific person she looks up to, she finds inspiration in the work of other hairstylists and creatives she sees online. She’s motivated by their incredible talent and the beautiful transformations they achieve, which pushes her to continually improve her own skills and knowledge.
For Olena, success is defined by the happiness of her clients. When they leave the salon with a big smile on their face and their hair looking just the way they imagined, she knows she’s done her job well. It’s about creating a fantastic, relaxing experience while delivering the perfect hair results.
After work, Olena enjoys paddleboarding, kayaking, and riding her bike during the summer months. She loves spending time outdoors with her family, going to the beach, or camping. As the weather gets colder, she shifts to spending time in the gym, drawing, or enjoying time with friends at the park. It’s all about finding balance and having the time to recharge.
Olena doesn’t have children yet, but she has a dream of having a cat one day. She also enjoys indulging in guilty pleasures like watching serials (which she finds addictive) and snacking on cheese, nuts, cakes, and sandwiches.
Managing work-life balance is important to Olena, and she does her best to stay organized and prioritize her time. She focuses on separating work from home life, ensuring that her work responsibilities stay at the salon while her personal life remains outside of it.
Looking toward the future, Olena is excited to continue developing her skills and expanding her expertise in color and haircuts. Her long-term goal is to open her own salon in a few years, and she’s dedicated to making that dream a reality.
Her advice to her younger self? “You always have to try, even when things seem hard and you feel like you might fail. Keep going!”
For her favorite Starbucks drink, Olena loves a White Mocha with caramel drizzle or an Iced Mocha with cold foam and caramel drizzle—the perfect treat to end a busy day.
Olena’s journey as a stylist is just beginning, and with her creative talent, dedication to learning, and passion for making people feel beautiful, there’s no doubt she will continue to achieve great things in the beauty industry.
