Caitlyn is a skilled and experienced hair and makeup artist who has been in the beauty industry for over a decade. With a keen eye for aesthetics and precision technique, Caitlyn specializes in color, cuts, extensions, and bridal updos. Her work has been praised for its creativity, attention to detail, and ability to exceed her clients' expectations. Caitlyn's passion for her work stems from her desire to enhance her clients' natural beauty and boost their confidence. Whether it is for a special occasion or a regular visit to the salon, Caitlyn's commitment to her craft ensures that her clients leave feeling and looking their best.

 
 

What made you become a stylist?

  • I always struggled with my hair growing up since I’m biracial. This stirred a passion in me to learn how to style my own hair, which lead me to absolutely fall in love with everything about the beauty industry.
    I now love teaching my clients how to style their own hair and I love working with all different textures of hair.


What’s your favorite product line?


  • I love our Lanza color line! Healthy hair is beautiful hair and I love that Lanza allows me to give that to my clients.


What hair tool can’t you live without?

  • I live for my bio ionic blow dryer. I can truly work magic with that and a good round brush by my side.


What’s your favorite service to provide to clients?

  • I strive to give all my clients a luxury experience when they’re sitting in my chair no matter what service they’re receiving. I love giving my clients beautiful hand painted highlights for a beautiful lived in looks. I specialize in demensional color, extensions, and bridal/ special occasion hair as well as makeup.


How do you keep up with the latest hair trends?

  • I read vogue each month so I can stayed clued in on what’s going on in the fashion world since fashion trends dictate the hair trends. I’m also a firm believer in being a life long learner. As a stylist, there are always new techniques as well as different wants to achieve the same end result and I love that I always have something new to learn.


What do you like best about being a stylist?

  • I love that it allows me to use my creativity to help bring people’s visions for themselves to life. I also love all the excitement that comes with working with brides

How has working at STUDIO VASI changed your business?

  • Studio Vasi has given me the opportunity to to use my passion and gifts in a supportive, positive and beautiful environment.


What’s your favorite thing about STUDIO VASI?

  • That’s easy, our team! It’s so refreshing to come into work everyday and work along side encouraging and supportive teammates.


What’s your favorite memory from your journey? When did it feel like you caught your “big break?”

  • I’ve had the opportunity to do hair on makeup on set for a few short films that went on to win a few awards. Seeing my name listed on IMDb was pretty surreal!


Is there anyone in the industry or beyond that you really admire, or someone who inspired you in your career?

  • Michelle Obama is someone I really resonate with especially after reading her book. Hearing her story of her experiences growing up as well as finding balance as a mom, wife and professional was truly inspiring for me personally and professionally.

How do you define a “success” after a client leaves your salon?

  • I define it as my client leaving feeling fantastic about themselves and their experience.

What’s your favorite way to unwind after work?

  • I love to listen to loud upbeat music in the car while driving home, espically from the 90's/ 2000's. I also love watching something dramatic or funny with my husband while drinking a glass of red wine preferably a Malbec or Shiraz.


Do you have any kids or animals?

  • I do, I have a 12 year old (step) daughter and 3yr old son, as well as a golden doodle named Chloe!


What’s your favorite guilty pleasure to indulge?

  • To be honest, I love a good episode of Real Housewives or the Bachelor with a good glass of red wine and I'll never say no to some Mitchell's ice cream!


How do you manage work-life balance?

  • I make time for the things that are important to me and feed my spirit. I firmly belive we can't pour out of an empty cup so I priorize things like doing fun things with my kids, going on dates with my husband, and traveling. My faith is also important to me and that helps keep me grounded.


What’s next for your career?

  • Next, I'm focusing on growing my extension skills and expanding my bridal and special occasion styling skills. I want to provide my all my clients with a luxury experience no matter who they are so I’m excited to find new ways to elevate my guests experience.


What advice would you give to your younger self?

  • I would tell myself that things are going to turn out even better than you could've ever imagined! To be unappolgetically yourself and to make decisions based off of your gut instincts because they will never lead you in the wrong direction. Don’t judge people because everyone is going through something. And make sure you make a habit of making time for yourself and the things that bring you joy.

What’s your favorite Starbucks drink?

  • If it's cold out a Flat White or if it's hot out a Paradise drink.
